The entertainment industry’s next major battleground is gaming rights. In 2025, Netflix Games, Amazon Luna, and Sony Stream are competing for exclusive dumaitoto streaming access to the biggest esports events and new releases.
Netflix’s acquisition of League of Legends Worlds 2025 broadcasting rights triggered an industry-wide rush. Since then, Amazon secured deals for Valorant Champions Tour, while Sony Stream locked Call of Duty League.
“Gaming content is now as valuable as Hollywood IP,” said analyst Jordan Keyes. “Platforms want exclusivity because engagement equals ecosystem dominance.”
However, the model has downsides. Viewers are frustrated by fragmentation, forced to subscribe to multiple services. Developers, meanwhile, benefit from higher licensing payouts but risk alienating audiences.
Experts predict eventual consolidation, similar to what happened in film streaming. Until then, the race for digital ownership continues — a new war where content isn’t watched, but played.
